POSITION
Summary:
Performs activities required to ensure accurate and timely processing of general ledger transactions and related reporting.
Responsibilities:
Apply accounting principles and practices to a variety of accounting functions.
Perform allocations; run weekly, cost center, and related reports; evaluate discrepancies and make corrections as appropriate.
Maintain general ledger accounts and account mappings.
Examine of various financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to guidelines.
Maintain GL data elements including cost centers, profit centers, cost elements, and Statistical Key Figures (SKF).
Perform weekly, period, quarterly, and year end close activities.
Perform moderate risk account reconciliations.
Provide assistance in moderate financial analysis for reasonableness.
Assist other departments in coding of financial transactions.
Enter and comply data in preparation of financial statements (includes journal entries, data entries, matching/clearing).
Validate external interfaces and sub ledgers.
Run standard reports.
Liaise closely with Site and Corporate Finance as well as operations management as appropriate.
Document processes to update/create training materials.
Act as a resources for colleagues with less experience.
Support our internal and external customers' needs.
Participate in performance management.

All Staff and Supervisors within Finance organization
Supervisors and Directors responsible for business processes within area of responsibility
Qualifications:
Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; or related degree with at least 24 hours in accounting
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook)
Excel level: Intermediate vlookups, pivot tables, subtotals
Preferred
Qualifications:
2 to 4 years' related experience with knowledge of departmental function, terminology and interrelationships
Proficiency with financial software
Professional Skills:
Ability to perform intermediate level analysis, interpret and evaluate precedents and data and recommend solutions to non-recurring problems
Communicate with various departments to resolve outstanding open items.
Recognition of variances, aged items, potential problems to begin research/resolution
Demonstrates ability in using independent judgment in determining how to approach and solve problems
Ability to think through multiple alternatives and potential consequences to determine the best outcome
Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills with good vocabulary and good grammar
Ability to prepare accurate, effective, complete and easily understood written communication and reports

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
