Job Requirements:
High level skills in the treatment and care of in house animal patients Ability to work with fractious pets Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as multi-tasking ability.
Organized, honest, reliable, flexible, independent Proven ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.
At least 2 years of recent experience in veterinary practice Ability to perform routine veterinary medical procedures (i.
e.
, place IV catheters, phlebotomy, collect samples, knowledge and use of routine veterinary equipment and administer injections) as well as properly restrain patients Demonstrates the ability to show empathy toward clients and treat animals with respect and compassion while maintaining a commitment to outstanding client service Excellent interpersonal communications skills RVT/CVT preferred, but not required You must be comfortable performing the following:
Patient restraint Venipuncture and Intravenous catheter placement Performing Radiographs Advanced drug calculations, drug administration and controlled drug log knowledge Fluid calculation, monitoring CRI's Monitoring patient vitals and knowledge or parameters, exemplary patient care, familiarity with patient treatment plans Patient care Documenting your work in patient records Familiarity with the disease processes we are dealing with, client education and communication Familiarity with Abaxis lab machines and running lab work Maintaining indwelling urinary catheters Bladder expressions Emergency intervention when warranted Observing patients before and after surgery for any changes that occur Anesthetic recovery Ensuring cleanliness of patients and the hospital We promote an emotionally intelligent work environment and strive for a positive work/life balance.
